Kansas house advances teacher tenure bill amid amendments
The measure sets tenure rules for teachers with three or more years in district, or two years if they had at least three years in another district before joining. It excludes teachers with licenses revoked for felonies or misconduct. Debates featured a failed "poison pill" amendment extending due process to many public employees, while a second bill on mandatory online anti bullying policy updates also moved forward.
