Bannister Struggles As Royals Fall To Rockies 10 7
Kansas City pitcher Brian Bannister allowed five runs and six hits in three-plus innings as the Royals lost 10 7 to the Colorado Rockies in Surprise Arizona. Bannister, 0-1 with a 10.80 ERA this spring, gave up a homer to Brad Hawpe with Helton aboard. Hawpe went 3-for-3 with three RBIs, Teahen homered for KC, and Kip Wells earned the win for Colorado. Royals manager Trey Hillman cited seven walks and two early errors as contributing factors.
