Lawrence man to stand trial as adult in 1990 hit and run

A 19-year-old Lawrence man agreed to be tried as an adult in the Douglas County case arising from the March 2, 1990 death of Christopher Bread. He was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide during the commission of DWI and leaving the scene of an accident after investigators linked him to Bread’s death last February. Prosecutors pursued the adult status as the statute of limitations loomed.

House panel backs utility bill exemption plan in Kansas
