Lawrence entrepreneur bets Lawrence becomes start for new music tech
Lawrence resident Kyle Johnson, CEO of Audio Anywhere, pursues deals with major labels to test online music technology in Lawrence, aiming to reverse industry revenue declines. The 29 year old KU engineering grad envisions Lawrence as a test market for a model he says could sustain free music online despite $8 billion in annual losses. Johnson, named Innovator of the Year by Pipeline, says momentum is building though no label deal is in place yet.
