Drop in migrant kids at Fort Bliss shelter signals progress
Health secretary Xavier Becerra said the Fort Bliss emergency shelter in El Paso housed 790 boys and the last girl left on Monday, with all youths released to relatives or licensed facilities. The number at the site has fallen from about 2,000 in mid June and a May peak of 4,800, as officials consider closing some shelters and expanding licensed beds.
