Artist Joe O Connell to craft eyes sculpture for Lawrence police HQ
Tucson artist Joe O Connell was chosen from more than 40 candidates to create a $325,000 stainless steel pavilion art piece for a Lawrence police headquarters minipark at 5100 Overland Drive. He presented the concept during two Zoom sessions, saying the ring of panels will show eyes to invite empathy by viewing from others perspectives and experiences.
