Many Boys Swim at New Lawrence Pool
The Chamber of Commerce pool in Lawrence is open under James Akright, city schools physical director. Fridays offer free swimming for boys with 125 plus attendees. Saturdays invite country boys. Beginning classes start at 2 pm on Tuesday and Thursday, with junior high students also swimming Mondays and Fridays. A small fee applies on non free days. Tuesday afternoon alone had about forty swimmers.
