Geologists test Kaw River for silt and flow
U S Army Corps of Engineers and U S Geological Survey teams collected velocity readings and sediment samples from the Kaw River at Lawrence as part of a special study. Glenn Quy and Larry Shelton lowered a five-depth silt sampler to map velocity curves and sediment deposition to assess river capacity and reservoir impact.
