82 Year Old Man Hurt in Bank Collision

Cecil J. Mann, 82, of Lawrence, was injured when his car hit a pickup at 9th and Kentucky Streets and struck the Douglas County State Bank causing extensive damage to shrubs, lighting fixtures, and a drainage spout. Daniels, 28, from 3rd Street, drove the other vehicle. Mann’s car then hit the bank wall and stopped after about 97 feet. Mann was treated and released from Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Daniels’ truck sustained $175 damage and the bank $500 in damages.

Investigation Continues In Death Of Local Boy

Law rence police investigate the shooting death of 14 year old Timothy Thomas Martin found in a McPherson basement. Authorities, including the Sheriff and Kansas Bureau of Investigation, pursue whether the incident was accidental. Funeral services pending at Glidden Funeral Home in Rossville.
