Noise ordinance creates tighter limits on bands in town
The city’s noise policy aims to handle complaints efficiently with warnings before tickets. In 2004 only 48 noise citations were issued. by 2005 ten months in, 108 citations have been issued. Most complaints involve loud parties, not bands, though musicians fear the crackdown harms the art community. Local officials say the policy balances rights of players and neighbors, with decibel guidelines under consideration.
