United States proposes new naval curbs at Geneva style talks led by M J Bridgeman. aims to reduce submarine sizes and cap cruiser and destroyer tonnage for Britain Japan and the US. Delegations debate replacing old ships and scrapping surplus vessels to meet agreed quotas with a five year review.

A local bank, sheriff, police, and Chamber of Commerce aided in arresting two men, George Parr and Frei A. Mageart, in Topeka after they used forged checks in Lawrence. The pair sought funds at multiple stores under assumed names, prompting bank alerts and a staged stakeout leading to Parr’s capture and information on his partner.
Toneka June 20 A P Names of the counties in which they are located will be given to all the parks in lake sites established by the state farm fish and game commission with funds derived for state hurling and fishing licenses. Projects already or soon to be under construction are in Meade Scott Crawford and Ottawa counties. The commission plans several more, one near Wichita seven miles, another within Topeka sites, and one in northwest Kansas likely Graham or Rooks. A tour with Raymond H. Torrey of the national conference of state parks and a Rockefeller foundation representative will inspect prospective park and lake sites.
Wichita editor Ebner T. Peterson resigns as Wichita Beacon editor to take the position of editor at Better Homes and Gardens, a Des Moines national magazine. Arch W. Darrell now conducts The Beacon Light column, succeeding Peterson.

Margaret Prine daughter of CG G Pringle of North Lawrence sustained cuts from broken glass when her car collided with a moving streetcar south of the Kaw bridge around 8 30 last night. Pringle driving the auto said lights from other cars blinded him and he did not see the streetcar in time. The streetcar traveled about ten miles per hour and the crash damaged the auto front wheel windshield fenders and tire. no other injuries reported.
Mrs Helen Talley, 98, of Lawrence, Kansas, was visiting Denver when she tried to take poison and drink poison in a despondent act. Authorities say she was unhappy in ill health and had been divorced from Tracy Talley years ago. Her father-in-law John Palmer in Denver reported the incident before her death. Police consider the case a possible suicide attempt.
