New Breed U S Writers Ohle Seeks New Title For Jelly
Ohle, LSU graduate 1959, faced rejections at Berkeley and SFSU before KU in 1968. His future-set novel Moldenke features five transplanted sheep hearts and a surveillance state, with Esquire and Knopf eyeing his work. Lish notes new writers use tone and mood over clear ideas, seeking reader intuition. Ohle credits Becket Friedman Stern as influences and says publishers show genuine interest in unknown authors.
