Sunday Dedication of Weaver Courtyard at KU

The Arthur D. Weaver fountain courtyard at the Kansas University Museum of Art will open to the public at 3 30 p m Sunday. Chancellor Franklin D Murphy will speak. Marilyn Miller, a business senior, earned a B plus average this spring at Kansas University. The honor roll list incorrectly showed her address as 1820 Ind. St. Marilyn was among 50 students to achieve the distinguished grade average.

State Puts Condemnation Plan in Motion for 185 Acre Baldwin Lake

The Forestry Fish and Game Commission voted to begin condemnation proceedings on land for an 185 acre lake between Vinland and Baldwin. Funding for the lake has been approved and will be available July 1, with construction contracts likely set after that date per director Dave Leahy.

Father and Son Listed As Good at Hospital

Melvin L. Zeller and his infant son Stephen Allen of Oskaloosa were in good condition at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a one car crash eight miles north west of Lawrence on Wellman road in Jefferson County. Mrs Wanda Zeller was killed, and daughter Karen Lee suffered minor injuries when the vehicle left the road and struck a bridge abutment.

Rankin Seeks Probate Court Post Again

Judge Charles C. Rankin of Douglas County Probate Court announced his candidacy for re election as a Republican. City Playgrounds Set to Open in Lawrence Monday

Lawrence eight summer recreation playgrounds open at 9 a.m. Monday with over 5,000 youngsters expected.
