North Dakota flood toll climbs after 12 hour deluge
Northeastern North Dakota faced widespread flooding as 12 hours of heavy rain drenched towns from Gilby to Mekinock. Officials reported 8 to 14 inches in Grand Forks County with a 17 inch gauge near Larimore. One man died and another is missing after a car washed out. Authorities evacuated Mekinock and set up shelters as residents sandbagged flood plains.
