Cool Rains From West Enter Northern Areas
Weather moved in from the Pacific bringing rain to the southern tier of states. Scattered showers occurred in the upper Mississippi Valley central plains and northern Rockies. The Chicago Weather Bureau logged heaviest rains of .67 inch at Rochester New York and .72 inch at Colville Washington. Temperatures ranged from 43 degrees at Fraser Colorado to the 50s and 60s in central areas and the 70s and 80s in the South. Needles California registered 101 degrees at midnight.
