Man dead after fight near Lawrence shelter
Lawrence police say a resident of the Lawrence Community Shelter died after a fight at East 25th Terrace and Franklin Road Tuesday night. Douglas County deputy found two men, one unconscious. Christopher Lickteig, 43, died at the scene and George Miller, 34, was arrested on suspicion of first degree murder. Miller is held without bond at Douglas County Jail.

City crews found a large void under Sixth Street between Monterey Way and Eldridge Street and will replace about 80 feet of storm sewer. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction, side by side, until approximately July 15.
