Suspect in Armed Robbery Arrested in Topeka
A 26-year-old Topeka man, Wesley L. Harris Jr., was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, kidnapping and theft in connection with a Monday armed robbery at Heartland Perma-Colum n, 1841 East 1450 Road. Law enforcement including Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Lawrence Police, Kansas Highway Patrol, Shawnee County Sheriff's Office and Topeka Police aided in the search. Harris was held at the Douglas County Jail after arrest in Topeka.

Upsurge in Kansas winter wheat forecast boosts harvest outlook
The National Agricultural Statistics Service raised Kansas winter wheat production to 314.5 million bushels from 272 million, reflecting May rainfall.
