Preliminary Survey Under Way for U S 59 Turnpike Bypass
State highway engineers have begun preliminary surveys to determine the route of the U S 59 bypass as it extends north toward the proposed Kansas Turnpike interchange northwest of Lawrence. The $140 million project will link Kansas City Lawrence El Dorado Wichita and the Oklahoma border and cross the Kaw River north of Lawrence.
