Mrs Mary Elizabeth Wilder longtime Lawrence resident died at her home 1617 Kentucky street after five weeks of illness. A member of the prominent Jenkins family she came to Lawrence in 1856 from Lockport Illinois. Surviving mourners include sister Kate Perkins visiting Boston and sister in law Mrs George Jenkins unable to attend the funeral. NECK BROKEN BY FALL DIES IN HONEY VALLEY
Chedie Patrick, 14, son of Mr and Mrs D Patrick of Honey Valley, died in an accident at the Honey Valley school house Wednesday afternoon. He and another boy were dislodging a bird nest under the eaves when a desk toppled, its legs striking him. Dr Slaughter from Tonganoxie arrived but he died within a half hour. The Patricks live on the Bert Harmon farm. Patrick was employed by Mr Harmon. The funeral was held at the home on Pri shay.
