Planning panel proposes end to five acre rural home rule
Douglas County planners unveil draft rules to end the five acre exemption for rural home building and require rezonings for development near city boundaries. The plan would set a 32 acre minimum for building, grandfather existing five acre parcels, and require annexation before rural land outside city limits can develop. The Rural Planning Subcommittee meets again August 12 at City Hall.
