Sixty three military patients arrived that night in a C-47 stretcher airlift enroute to the mainland. The flight set a record for evacuation from the orient. Maj. Donald Ferguson said the C-97s were added to the run to meet increased need. The C-97 can carry 70 patients from Japan to the west coast in three days.
