Wheat Control by Associations in Wheat States
Washington officials say county wheat production control associations will be set up in the next three weeks to enforce voluntary domestic allotments. Secretary Wallace plans to announce the required percentage for cash payments within 10 days, with a maximum 20 percent reduction, and counties may join larger areas if small allotments exist. Local counties listed include Douglas 237,249 bushels. Jefferson 217,395. Leavenworth 241,543. Johnson 203,448. Franklin 117,949. Osage 106,611. Shawnee 165,353, among others.
