Kansas lottery sales rose 1.8 percent to about 185.4 million for the 1997 fiscal year, the seventh consecutive yearly record. Kansas Cash Lotto led gains with 22.3 million in 1997, up from 14.4 million, while instant games totaled 81.4 million and Powerball and Keno also posted solid figures.
The Kansas Lottery reported fiscal 1997 sales set a record for the seventh straight year. Instant games brought in 81.4 million, Powerball 39.7 million, Keno 36.5 million, Cash Lotto 22.3 million, Pick 3 five million, and pull-tab games 522 thousand.
Oklahoma promoter Raymond Steiner co chaired Bartlesville Centennial Celebration grand finale concert. He collapsed during a live radio interview and died later at a hospital. Dan Droeger, fellow Bartlesville Centennial Commission member, confirmed Steiner’s death while he was at the radio station.
