Potato harvest keeps tradition alive in family farm

Nine years after leaving to study at Kansas State University Shawn Pine returns to the family potato farm north of Lawrence to coordinate the harvest. Compromise plan offered to end U N Iraq standoff

UNITED NATIONS (UP) diplomats awaited word on a compromise proposal to end the impasse over a weapons inspection team blocked from a Baghdad ministry as U S officials outlined possible military plans.
