Greek iconographer shares religious art knowledge in Wichita
A Greek iconographer, Papadopoulos, taught Byzantine iconography at the Catholic Diocese of Wichita Spiritual Life Center. Students spent days painting a single image of Michael the Archangel, learning depth, geometry, and spiritual purpose. Icons are viewed as windows to the divine and are created without humanly shown smiles or shadows.
