Oklahoma pivots on repeal vote in special session
Oklahoma moves closer to a national repeal by approving a resolution for a popular vote on the Eighteenth Amendment. The Senate passed 26 to 14 after delays and airlifted senators, with House concurrence expected quickly. If approved, voting could occur after December 5, 1933, or at the next general election in 1934. The move follows broad state dry laws and tax tweaks enacted during the session.
