Man tries to abduct jogger on Prairie Park trail

Judge holds court at jail for police standoff suspect

Robbery suspect given probation in Lawrence case
Marcus X. Young, 26, of Kansas City Kansas, received two years probation from Douglas County District Court Judge Sally Pokorny for the May 15 2017 Long John Silver and A&W robbery in Lawrence. He faced an underlying prison term of one year if probation fails. Surveillance photos circulated as officers traced Young after the incident in which an edged weapon was shown and an employee was struck. The case began as aggravated robbery later downgraded to aggravated burglary and theft. Young pleaded guilty to attempted aggravated burglary. Bond was reduced from 100000 to 5000 and he remained free on bond.
