Arizona sheriff backs immigration law at Kansas rally
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio defended Arizona's immigration enforcement law during a Kansas rally for secretary of state candidate Kris Kobach. He argued federal action failed to protect residents, urging strict enforcement and signaling support for Kobach’s push to curb illegal immigration and voting by noncitizens. The event drew protesters and brief disruption over a suspicious package, later found harmless.
