Longtime inmate refuses to attend key hearing in Douglas County
Danny Coleman, 33, one of the Douglas County Jail’s longest-serving inmates, again refused to leave jail for a crucial court hearing where Judge Sally Pokorny would consider withdrawing his plea and, if denied, proceeding to sentencing. He was placed on administrative lockdown after missing the session, with sentencing reset to August 2. Coleman has been in jail since 2016, facing multiple district court cases and past prison terms, largely tied to aggravated robbery, theft, meth possession, and forgery. His attorneys cite substance abuse, mild intellectual disability, depression, and anxiety as factors in his offenses.
