Farm House North of Lawrence Burns In Midnight Fire

A farm house used for storing hay about six miles north of Lawrence burned to the ground shortly after midnight today. The building and 136 bales of hay belong to Mr and Mrs Earl Bell of 1145 Kentucky Avenue. Mrs Bell said it was a total loss with damages estimated at 1000 dollars.

The Centennial Antique Steam Engine Threshing Bee in McLouth will run a three day event in July 2023. Officials say the bee on H. C. Watson farm four miles east of McLouth will feature an old time threshers meal each day and a Saturday evening meal with attractions that include a hand fed separator popcorn machine fair stalls and steam engines of various sizes.
