KDOT Reconsiders South Lawrence Trafficway Alignment
State transportation officials say the South Lawrence Trafficway may cost up to 15 million dollars more and require more than 3 million dollars in local funding. A 3.8 million federal share earmarked for the Eastern Parkway could cover the local match. KDOT told Douglas County last month the route must be rebuilt from the ground up as portions of County Road 13 Clinton Parkway and 31st Street cannot support a state highway. The completed corridor would be designated Kansas Highway 10.
