County trims budget for chamber decor in 1996 plan
Douglas County commissioners will not add funds for redecorating their chamber. About 38000 remaining from prior budgets will be used for painting and new carpet. A proposed 2500000 budget implies a 4 mill decrease. Public budget hearings continued with debate over layoffs and personnel discussions. Commissioners Buhler and McElhaney supported 9930 for Kansas Association of Counties membership, which Chappell opposed.
