Lawrence man charged in child abuse case involving two boys
Douglas County prosecutors charged 30 year old Stanley E Burleson with four counts of child abuse after two brothers aged 14 and 12 alleged abuse at a Lawrence residence. The boys were taken into protective custody with non life threatening injuries. Burleson, the boyfriend of the boys' mother, appeared in court with bond set at 30000 and no contact order. Police also arrested the boys' mother on abuse charges.
