Conditions Point to Good Business in Tenth District 1926

Kansas City reports in the January Federal Reserve review that despite cautious notes, 1926 will bring heavy business volume in the Tenth District with no boom. December and year 1925 showed record department store sales, large building permits totaling 8.2 million in December and 123.1 million for the year, and extensive highway construction boosting manufacturing and employment. Mineral output set records with crude oil leading and metals like zinc, lead, silver rising. coal activity remained high in late 1925. Agricultural value for 1925 reached about 4.23 billion, with mixed crop prices and restocked cattle aiding industry, though hog supply and farm hogs declined slightly.
