Rubber Prices Down Reflect US Campaign Against Costs
Washington reports Secretary Hoover says rubber prices fell amid anti inflation drive. Spot rubber at 68 cents a pound, three month delivery about 64 cents. Hoover notes 1935 imports reached 60 million pounds and cites potential savings if 1934-35 policy held. He warns foreign monopolies raise costs and urges American consumer resistance to monopolies in raw materials. A House committee inquiry into profits in the rubber industry was announced.

Forage Shortage Looms For Kansas Western Cattle
Western Kansas farmers with large cattle flocks face a looming forage shortage if cold weather continues. The U S Weather Bureau reports limited winter pastures on wheat fields, with plentiful moisture north of the Raw valley and in eastern Kansas. Wheat shows no serious cold damage yet, but pastures are sparse and much of the crop remains in the shock or on stalks in northern and western counties. Plowing for spring crops proceeds in the south central area while rains have greened some wheat in the south central counties.
