Kansas abortion clash looms as Roe v Wade marked
Hundreds of abortion opponents gathered at the Kansas Statehouse to mark Roe v Wade’s 45th anniversary and brace for a potential push to add anti abortion language to the state Constitution. Kansans for Life urged that a Kansas Supreme Court case may extend abortion rights beyond Roe while opponents warn of dismemberment bans. The 2015 D and E ban at issue was challenged, with oral arguments heard March 16, 2017.

Wreck on K-10 near Clinton Lake kills one in Lawrence
A two-vehicle crash on Kansas Highway 10 near Clinton Parkway in Lawrence left Kristina Robinson 37 of Junction City dead and injured Elijah Garcia 20 and Phillip Afful 18 of Lawrence. Garcia and Afful were hospitalized with serious injuries. The west and eastbound lanes closed briefly as responders and investigators worked. Snow began after the crash as vehicles remained at the scene.
