Mrs Pearl Broers of Route 2 suffered severe burns Saturday afternoon when gasoline fumes ignited while she cleaned nylon jackets. The blast blew out glass at her home near Lawrence and she remains in Lawrence Memorial Hospital in guarded condition. Her eyebrows eyelashes and part of her hair were singed though legs and body were not injured. She runs a turkey farm south of Lawrence on highway 63.
