Pinewood Derby Brings Families Together For Cub Scouts
About 30 Lawrence Cub Scouts from pack 3071 gathered at Prairie Park School to race pine wood cars in the cafeteria. Andy Dominguez, 9, rebuilt his car with help from his mother just before the entry deadline as families shared time and teamwork over the tradition started in 1953 by a California Cubmaster. Jaydin Riedel won first, with William Harnar and Johnathon Kinder placing second and third as cars met weight and wheel rules while parents cheered and helped decorate.
