Fire at De Soto landmark hotel leaves three injured
Three people remained hospitalized after a Thursday morning blaze destroyed a De Soto hotel. Manley Glenn Mitchell, 58, of Torrington Wyoming, suffered burns and was in poor condition at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Bonnie Morgan, 64, Benny Clark, 34, were in fair condition at Olathe Hospital with facial and hand burns. Police Chief Clarence Johnson said the cause was undetermined and flames reignited in the wreckage around 2 a.m. Volunteers kept the site guarded overnight.
