Lucy A Haskell of North Brookfield Massachusetts born January 7 1820 married Charles A Haskell in Boston December 20 1837. She and her husband settled in Lawrence where she sheltered her home during the Quantrill raid concealing military clothing and valuables and repelling raiders. After her husband's death she supported two children and maintained her Christian faith. She died after years of illness and was honored with a funeral at the Congregational Church in Lawrence with pallbearers named O A Hansome A Marks Theo Gardasi Thomas Sweeney Henry Benson and James Faron. Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery.
