Kansas University sophomore Gayle Kooken of 1325 W Campus suffered bruises to the right leg in a two car crash about 9 15 p m Friday at 14th and Mass Streets. She was a passenger in a car driven by Frank D Hurst 21 of 1122 W Campus. The Hurst car collided with a car driven by Mary E Hodges 21 of 1246 W Campus. Damage was estimated at 775 dollars.
Lawrence announces a series of enrollment information meetings for parents. The first gathering is 7:30 p.m. Monday in the West Junior High multipurpose room for eighth grade parents. Subsequent sessions cover seventh, ninth and sixth graders on specified future dates. Friday, Tommy Dixon, noted Kansas City prizefighter and former KU boxing coach, died at 75 after a heart attack at a Veterans Hospital. Dixon trained many, including John D. Montgomery, publisher of the Junction City Union and former Kansas Democratic chairman. Montgomery, under Dixon, fought at 133 pounds with only one loss in two years, including Olympic trials.

John S. Marks 19 of Lehman Pennsylvania remained in critical condition at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a one car crash Thursday afternoon. The driver James F. Sgarlat 33 of Forty Fort Pennsylvania was killed five miles west of Lawrence on U S Route 40. Marks suffered head and internal injuries when the car struck a concrete culvert. The 1964 car was wrecked.
