Berlin Polar Bear Cub Likely Female at Nuremberg Zoo
Nuremberg officials say the four week old polar bear cub likely is a girl though its sex is not yet confirmed. The cub, taken from mother Vera, is being hand raised by four keepers and weighed 3.75 pounds. Public debut expected by early April, with plans to name the cub in a future competition. Knut’s Berlin fame is referenced as a benchmark for the cub’s hoped-for popularity.
