Former Baldwin clerk to be sentenced today
Baldwin's former city clerk Penni Porter 41 was fired last June amid embezzlement allegations and has pleaded guilty to two counts of misusing city funds and one count of making a false writing. Burglary and vehicle incident reported at Home Music
An Alvarez guitar was stolen from Home Music 711 W Src between 11 10 and 11 13 p m Tuesday. A brick shattered a glass window causing 500 in damage to the 750 guitar. Alarm activated but no one was nearby when police arrived. Police also report a separate case of driving while a laser was shone at an officer at Sixth and Rockledge on Dec 24. No charges filed for the 7 year old driver. A sheriff’s deputy was listed in good condition after a patrol car incident near Lane Star Lake. Emergency responses included multiple medical and fire calls across Lawrence and surrounding areas with several false alarms and standard medical emergencies.
