ROTC Program Discussed at Lawrence Rotary
Marine Col. John Lanigan outlined U S ROTC growth at colleges nationwide during a Lawrence Rotary Club talk. He cited 490 units totaling about 265 000 cadets with 50 percent of Army, 13 percent Navy and 33 percent Air Force officers commissioned through ROTC. Scholarships range up to 7500 dollars out of state, with varied tuition and stipend packages.

Housing Group Proposes Low-Cost Housing Project
The Lawrence City Commission will hear a proposal by the Lawrence Housing Authority to seek 210000 in federal HUD funds for study and planning of 600 low-cost housing units.
