Royals Sign Lefty Gary Peters for Spring Camp
Kansas City Royals welcome left handed pitcher Gary Peters to their spring training roster. Peters is 35 and spent seven seasons with the Chicago White Sox and the last three with Boston compiling a 124-103 major league record. He made only three starts last season posting a 3-3 mark and 4.34 ERA before becoming a free agent. Royals general manager Cedric Tallis says the move addresses pitching depth as a gamble worth taking. Peters is among the few pitchers in the majors able to double as a pinch hitter.
