Four American marines were killed and nine wounded in an engagement Monday between U S Marines and Sandino forces near Darafe between Yali and Condesen in northern Nicaragua. The pack train of 36 quarried and 80 animals was ambushed. Sandino fighters used rifles and at least one machine gun. A marine doctor treated the wounded at Esteli before transport to Managua.
