South Middle to Be Renamed Billy Mills Middle School
Lawrence school board voted to rename South Middle School to Billy Mills Middle School effective July 1, 2018 2019 school year in honor of Native American Olympic gold medalist Billy Mills. Initial change will appear on signage with later replacements of stationery uniforms and gym floor aligned with existing reorder cycles to cut costs.
