Donald R. Simpson 21 of 2333 Ridge Court was treated at Memorial Hospital after a collision at 5th and Iowa. Quinter J. Brown 71 of 921 NY St. said his car skid on wet pavement and struck Simpson’s. Damages estimated 250 and 185 dollars. Other incidents included Ann Miller 22 and Linda Morris 21 at 23rd and Iowa, Suzanne Dalton 24 at 9th and Iowa, Steve Rorabaugh 20 and Judith Unruh 22 at Fireside Dr, and Walter Sneegas 39 with Harry Bontrager 19 at 8th and La, all caused by mud or wet sand.
Former Alabama Attorney General Richmond Flowers and two associates were found guilty of conspiring to extort money from Alabama businesses during Flowers' 1963 to 1967 tenure. Richard T. Jackson reports a $135 typewriter and tools stolen from his home between Feb 17 and Thursday afternoon. Police say two trailers at Lawrence Freight Lines were entered with doors open at 3:37 am and a motor loosened on one trailer. Separately William M. Davis reports a $65 car stereo and seven $5 tapes stolen from his car between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
