Mozambique floods worsen as Save River valley drowns
Rapid floodwaters in central Mozambique swept bodies downstream and left about 17,000 people in the Save River Valley in danger. Rescue helicopters were sought as rivers swollen by rains crossed borders into Zimbabwe and South Africa. Aid workers described thousands stranded in trees and on roofs with hundreds feared dead or missing.
