Funeral for Roy Roberts Draws Nation's Newsmen in KC
More than 600 mourners attended the Kansas City Star board chairman Roy Roberts funeral at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral. Gov. Warren E Hearnes and ex governor William H Avery were among the attendees. Roberts died at St Luke's Hospital after a long confinement at age 79. He had been news editor of the Journal World in 1908-09 before joining the Star. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.
